How to Protect Gmail Account From Hackers

Most of the people use gmail for sending mails. Google gives us free data storage to store our precious info on gmail account. So Gmail would be the target for hackers. Gmail developer team has given us a wonderful security option by enabling the 2-step verification.

2-step verification makes your account more secure by making you to login into gmail by 2 steps. While logging in into gmail account, gmail sends you the security code to your mobile number and asks you to enter that code in gmail login page.
This makes sure that only the mobile phone carrier can able to know that code. So your account cannot be hacked.

How to enable 2-step verification:
  • Login to your Gmail account
  • Click Account at the top right corner
  • Click Security here you will see 2-step verification
  • Click Setting
  • Now click Start Setup
  • Enter your password for security reasons
  • Select your Country and enter your mobile number
  • Select the method of verification, SMS option is by default and is most recommended one.
  • Just click Send Code
  • Now google will send you text on your mobile number with Verification Code 
  • Enter your verification code and click Verify
  • Uncheck Trust this computer and click Dont trust this computer 
  • Click Confirm
  • If your primary mobile is lost then you cannot able to login to gmail so setup Backup Mobile Number.
  • Backup Verification Codes are the another way to Recover Your Account please note that numbers and keep it safe somewhere. There are 10 backup codes. Each code can be used once.
